Awards Season Updates for NFF!

Awards season is in full swing, and the Nantucket Film Festival would like to congratulate some of our 2010 films and guests on their accolades:

Tonight, the newly reopened Museum of the Moving Image will host the Cinema Eye Honors for Nonfiction Filmmaking. Among the 5 Best Feature nominees, with a total of 7 nod, is LAST TRAIN HOME. Joining Lixin Fan's incredible documentary in the Audience Choice Prize category are other NFF alums JOAN RIVERS: A PIECE OF WORK, WAITING FOR "SUPERMAN", and THE TILLMAN STORY. Check out full honorees.

BAFTA nominations are in, and THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT and TOY STORY 3 scooped up 4 and 3 nominations respectively, including 2 Best Actress nominations for Annette Bening and Julianne Moore. Full list of nominees.

The Golden Globes handed out honors on Sunday night, and THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT walked away with top awards for Best Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical) and a statue for Bening as Best Actress. TOY STORY 3 also snatched up the trophy for Animated Feature. Winners of the evening can be found HERE.

The industry guilds – among them the Directors Guild of America, the Producers Guild, the Writers Guild, and the Screen Actors Guild – have started bestowing their yearly awards and among the NFF alums cited are WINTER'S BONE, TOY STORY 3, THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, GET LOW, WAITING FOR "SUPERMAN",THE TILLMAN STORY, SMASH HIS CAMERA, and FREEDOM RIDERS.
