The NFF Teen View Labs kicked off in January, with Program Director Jeff Tocci leading the students in basic storytelling techniques, as well as sound and camera work. In their second session, held last weekend, the local high school students developed their stories in a collaborative writing circle (pictured above), before covering three-point lighting and sound design for the indoors and out.
For the next lab, students will prepare a draft or treatment of their scripts, which range from the documentary form to film noir. Jeff Tocci says we should expect at least seven unique films at this year's Teen View showcase, held during the festival in late June.
