In Their Shoes...® provides Nantucket Film Festival audiences with an in-depth and revealing glimpse into the work of major screenwriters, actors, and other film artists. These hour-long conversations are always among the highlights of the festival, with past talks including many of our past Screenwriters Tribute honorees as well the likes of Robin Wright, Glenn Close, Frank Langella, Jim Carrey, and Meg Ryan.

The Oscar®-winning Screenwriters Tribute recipient will discuss his legendary body of work.  He is one of the world’s preeminent filmmakers—an iconoclast and visionary, not only as a director, but as a writer and public intellectual.

Eugene Jarecki is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and an award-winning director of dramatic and documentary films.  He has twice won both the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and the prestigious Peabody Award, for Why We Fight and The House I Live In. His other films include the Emmy award-winning Reagan, The Trials of Henry Kissinger, and Freakonomics. Jarecki wrote and directed the feature narrative The Opponent. He is also the author of The American Way of War: Guided Missiles, Misguided Men, and a Republic in Peril and the director of The Eisenhower Project, a public policy group.

The Compass Rose Acting Award recipient will discuss her body of work from comedic actress on Saturday Night Live to more dramatic turns in films like Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and this year’s Other People.
