In this adaptation of Alexander Maksik’s novel A Marker to Measure Drift, Jacqueline (Cynthia Erivo, Oscar-nominated for Harriet), a young refugee from Liberia who is haunted by her past, lives in self-imposed exile on a picturesque Greek island. She spends her days wandering, trying to remain inconspicuous as she struggles to survive. When she is befriended by Callie (Alia Shawkat), a lonely American tour guide, Jacqueline gradually emerges from her shell, seeking healing through human connection.
