In the world of competitive high school mariachi, students from the South Texas borderlands reign supreme. Despite working with a limited budget and a team of rookie musicians, Edinburg North High School’s coach Abel Acuña is determined to reach the state championships. With empathy and tough love in equal measure, coach Acuña sets out to fine-tune their musical skills, while team captains Abby, Marlena, and Bella must navigate their final year of high school even as they embrace their cultural heritage through mariachi.
