What are the admission policies?
To guarantee admission all pass and ticket holders must be present in line at the venue at 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. We reserve the right to sell any empty seats after that time. Late seating is at the discretion of the venue management team and is not permitted 30 minutes after the start time of any screening or event.
What is the difference between First Entry, Preferred Entry, and General Entry?
First Entry is only available for Founder and Legacy Pass-holders. Pass-holders at this level will be allowed to enter the venue and wait in a designated area, and will be let into the theater at the time that the venue staff opens the doors. Entry is allowed only by the discretion of the venue staff.
Preferred Entry is only available for Patron Pass-holders or equivalent ticketless access passes. Pass-holders will be asked to get on the designated line at the venue. Pass-holders will be given preferred access off the line for up to 15 mins before the scheduled start time of the film or event.
General Entry is off the ticket-holder line at the venue. All ticket-holders must be present in line at least 15 mins prior to the scheduled start time to guarantee admission.
Best practices in attending a film screening:
- Arrive around 15-30 minutes prior to screening time if you have a ticket or pass to get in line outside the theater/venue.
- If you have a ticket: make sure you have your digital ticket (which will be a pdf attached to your Order Confirmation Email) or physical ticket ready to scan when the house is opened.
- If you have a pass: make sure you are wearing/possess your printed passholder badge to be ready to scan when the house is opened.
- Check the weather! Most of our lines queue outside of the Dreamland Theater, so come prepared dress for rain if it’s in the forecast.
- Stay for the Q&A! Depending on filmmaker availability, there may be a Q&A following the screening.
- Vote for the Audience Award; certain films in the festival are eligible for our Audience Award. There will be QR codes to scan on screen and/or outside the theater for you to cast your vote.

If there is availability in the theater, after pass and ticket-holders have been seated, the venue staff will sell the vacant seats approximately 5-10 minutes before the event’s start time. Admission is not guaranteed. Rush Sales are limited to one (1) ticket per person. We accept the following payment methods: cash or credit card.
