WORK AT NFF
The Nantucket Film Festival was founded in 1996 with a mission to promote the cultural awareness and appreciation of the art of screenwriting and storytelling. In its 29th year, NFF has grown into one of the country’s premier destination film festivals. Visitors come from all over to experience the preview screenings, Signature Programs, and standout hospitality on a magical island with a friendly atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and a literary history all its own.
NFF is committed to delivering an inclusive and accessible festival, year-round programming, and educational programs. We strive to create a workforce of passionate, dedicated people, representing our diverse and global community of storytellers. We are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer where diversity, equity, and inclusion are championed in how we support our island community, develop new initiatives, and strengthen our culture.
The Nantucket Film Festival takes place annually in June on the island of Nantucket, off the coast of Cape Cod, MA, with a year-round office based in New York City.
We are always looking for talented and hardworking individuals to join our team.

NFF 2025 Week-of Festival Student Program
Want to see how a film festival runs? The Nantucket Film Festival (NFF) provides students and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to witness the execution of a film festival during the festival week. The program will focus on the execution of the 30th Annual Nantucket Film Festival this coming June 25 – 30, 2025. Each student will get the chance to work hand-in-hand with our staff and learn about:
- Festival exhibition
- Sponsorship activation
- Guest relations
- Event production
- Plus, you will have access to see films and attend events during the week, and be included in staff planned gatherings.
The week will start with a virtual orientation the first week of June (exact date and time to be determined) so you can hear more about what’s going on at the festival this year, and what the internship schedule will be like. We ask that students commit to working at least 6 hours a day, schedule allowing.
NFF does not provide housing or transportation to the island. We ask that each student arrive on island by June 23rd and are free to depart after June 30th. If you are available before or after these dates, you are more than welcome to join us and get involved earlier. NFF is also willing to provide records to your university/college for credit if so desired by the student.
Interested in joining us for the 30th anniversary festival? Please include a resumé and a brief description about yourself to resumes@nantucketfilmfestival.org. Please write “NFF Week-of Festival Application” in the subject line.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide travel to or accommodations on the island.
