JAMES BALOG
For 40 years, visionary photographer James Balog has revealed the most crucial environmental issues of our time. His 2018 award-winning film, The Human Element, has been screened worldwide. Balog’s Extreme Ice Survey is the most extensive, ground-based, photographic study of glaciers ever conducted and was the basis of the film Chasing Ice, which won an Emmy and the Sundance award for cinematography. An avid mountaineer, Balog is the author of eight books. His photographs are in many dozens of public and private art collections, and are extensively published in electronic and print media worldwide.
JEREMY POCHMAN
Jeremy Pochman is a co-founder and the CEO of 11th Hour Racing, a captain, and a professional sailor. Pochman worked at Nantucket Community Sailing as director of operations and sailed many miles on the classic yawl Impala. Through 11th Hour Racing, his goal is to underscore the bonds between humans, water, and land through sailboat racing, recognizing that we can push each other to find better solutions for better sailing practices.
