    Part-time 20 to 25 hrs/wk for 10 weeks till April 16. Full-time 40 hrs/wk until the close of the contract. Approximately 700 hours. Work hours are 10 AM – 6 PM; in June office hours may vary onsite.

The Nantucket Film Festival (NFF) is searching for a hardworking, passionate, and analytical Program Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and have a passion for presenting and cultivating the next generation of storytellers. 

As the Program Coordinator, you would play a critical role in supporting our programming team with the development, scheduling, execution, and marketing of the Festival’s film program and screenplay competition. This includes but is not limited to the coordination of the festival film program from submissions through exhibition. The position will act as one of the faces of the organization, which includes public speaking during the annual festival.

Lastly, this position will be required to travel to Nantucket in June for the annual festival.

PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and execute the completion of submission operations and timelines for all films and screenplays for the Nantucket Film Festival, including the oversight of the reading and screening committees, recruitment, HR, meetings, and quality control.
  • Manage all programming and screenplay competition operations, including collecting key deliverables for all confirmed films (press materials/exhibition info/etc), filmmaker and artist communications, and screening operations (intro cards/screen cards, audience awards, Q&A schedule, and screening recaps).
  • Work closely with the Guest Services team to manage the artist/filmmaker relations and execute all communications for all attending artists. 
  • Work closely with the Marketing team on the festival’s promotion and deliverables, ensuring all screenings, films, and attending talent information is correct and accurate.
  • Work with the Festival Manager and Lead Programmer on the creation of the festival database and input of all programming and screening information.
  • Help the Festival Manager maintain communications with NFF’s alumni network from the festival and the Tony Cox Competition. This includes creating channels for re-engagement with NFF, promoting their new and existing projects, and explaining how NFF can alternatively support them as artists.
  • Assist with the review process of all high-scoring film and screenplay submissions, this includes participating in the Tony Cox Screenplay Competition deliberations.
  • Work with the events, signature programs, and sponsorship teams to create events and opportunities for filmmakers and writers to connect and engage with each other and festival attendees. 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Excellent communicator, including writing, organizational, and verbal skills.
  • An interest in film curation and programming with knowledge and familiarity with specialized film exhibition and distribution is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Working technical knowledge of projection and exhibition is preferred but not required.
  • Competencies in collaboration, copy editing, time management, flexibility, relationship management, and integrity.
  • A high level of comprehension and reading skills.
