Following the screening of SWEET STÖRY, join us for a Deep Dive conversation on food, sustainability, and island life
Filmmakers Sarah Kerruish and Matt Maude are joined by Maria Aulén Thomsson, film subject and bakery proprietor to discuss the film. Now running the small Café Truten on Rödlöga, an island in the northern Stockholm archipelago, Maria brings a lived, daily connection to the questions at the heart of the film.

The program includes a shared fika moment, with pastries from Meg Ray’s Miette Patisserie served alongside the conversation. From there, we open things up—moving from what’s on the plate to the systems behind it: seasonal baking, small businesses as community anchors, and the delicate balance of sustaining both place and people on an island.
Rooted in the film and shaped by those living it, this is a conversation that extends beyond the screen and into the ways food, craft, and care quietly hold a community together.
