2026 Honors: PAUL FEIG
NFF is delighted to award the 2026 Visionary Storyteller Award to generation-defining filmmaker Paul Feig. Feig’s ability to seamlessly weave story, timing, and character is next to none, always hitting the bullseye for the loudest laugh, biggest reveal, or tenderest moment. With his influence spanning film and television alike, audiences have been howling with laughter and shuddering in suspense at his work for decades. Feig’s directorial portfolio produced arguably the greatest comedic films of the mid-aughts (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Ghostbusters), and more recently served us some of the juiciest thrillers (A Simple Favor, The Housemaid).
On the silver screen, Feig’s status as a cult-classic showrunner (Freaks and Geeks) or the director responsible for some of television’s most unforgettable moments (The Office, Arrested Development) truly make him a household name.
Feig’s true jack-of-all-trades status also means he’s no stranger to cameos or executive producer roles. With time-tested creative partnerships and credits that read like a list of audience favorites, Feig’s genre-defying storytelling ability sets him apart as a singular storyteller for the ages.
2026 Honors: RASHIDA JONES & WILL MCCORMACK
A duo of celebrated multihyphenates, Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, are the recipients of the 2026 Special Achievement in Screenwriting Award. Accomplished actors, producers, and directors in their own right, as a writing team Jones and McCormack have delivered heartfelt meditations on love, community, and relationships since their first collaboration in the mid-aughts. Jones and McCormack bring craft, heart, and precision to stories that reveal surprising human truths, all supported on the foundation of their unique friendship and varied careers.
The team’s beloved 2012 debut, Celeste & Jesse Forever, was an indie rom-com darling, having premiered at Sundance to rave reviews and garnered an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Screenplay. A Swim Lesson (2024), the team’s short documentary about long-time LA swimming instructor Bill Marsh, was shortlisted for an Academy Award. The duo’s latest project, The Invite, boasts a star-studded cast (Penelope Cruz, Edward Norton, Seth Rogen, and Olivia Wilde) and tells the story of two couples whose lives intertwine in hilarious and unexpected ways.
Outside of their successful writing partnership, Rashida Jones is no stranger to television or film screens, known for her roles in Parks & Recreation, The Office, and many more. Will McCormack routinely brings his writing and producing chops to blockbuster projects and indie powerhouses alike such as Toy Story 4, If Anything Happens I Love You, and Kevin Can F*k Himself.
