The American Revolution examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down.
Ken Burns returns to the Nantucket Film Festival with a powerful presentation from his landmark documentary THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.
The screening will feature an extended exploration of the writing of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Paine’s Common Sense, and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Following the screening, Burns will participate in a moderated conversation examining the ideals articulated in 1776 as America approaches its semiquincentennial. More than a recounting of history, this timely conversation is about who we are as Americans, and who we aspire to be.
