Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the movies…
JAWS @ 50: THE DEFINITIVE INSIDE STORY makes its U.S. premiere with back-to-back screenings in Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket—the iconic islands where the legend began. This electrifying new documentary plunges into the making of Jaws, the film that redefined cinema and created the modern blockbuster.
Packed with never-before-seen footage from Steven Spielberg’s personal archive and jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes stories, JAWS@50 is both a behind-the-scenes deep dive and a love letter to filmmaking. Even more powerful: it features reflections from directors like Steven Soderbergh, Jordan Peele, and others on how Jaws shaped their creative lives and changed the industry forever.
Following the screening, join ocean advocate Wendy Benchley—widow of Jaws author Peter Benchley—and Amblin Entertainment producer Justin Falvey (The Americans, The Haunting of Hill House) for a live conversation, moderated by journalist and political commentator Chris Matthews.
A thrilling tribute to the film that made us afraid to go in the water—and reminded us just how deep movies can go.
